How MakerPal works

Last updated: 07 March 2026

MakerPal is two things in one: a marketplace where independent makers list their products, and a collaboration portal where creators apply to feature them. Makers list products. Creators choose what genuinely fits their audience. Customers discover handmade objects by browsing directly or through a creator they trust, and receive a 5% discount when buying through a creator code. Revenue is only shared when a creator drives a real sale, tracked automatically through attribution.

Good products grow best when they are shared by creators who genuinely believe in them, and discovered by customers who are actually looking for them.

MakerPal replaces upfront marketing spend with a simple principle: value is shared only when value is created. No maker pays before a sale happens. No creator earns without driving one. No customer pays full price when a creator vouches for the product.

Products are the interface. Fit is the filter. Trust is the outcome.

Makers submit products they personally create and want to grow sustainably.

Each listing describes:

  • What the product is and who it is made for
  • Why it is different
  • How a collaboration could work

There are no listing fees and no paid placement. Makers always control their own pricing.

Once listed, the product becomes visible to creators inside MakerPal. When a creator applies to collaborate, the maker is notified and can accept or decline. Nothing happens without the maker's agreement.

Creators browse available products and apply to collaborate on the ones that genuinely match their audience.

Applying takes minutes: a creator explains why the product fits their world and how they would naturally share it. The maker reviews the application and decides whether to proceed.

Once approved, the creator receives a unique link or code. There is no obligation to post on a schedule. No scripts. No forced campaigns.

This is intentional. Recommendations that feel natural convert better than ones that feel paid. Everyone wins when the fit is real.

Every sale falls into one of two categories:

Organic sale: no creator involved

WhoShare
Maker90%
MakerPal10%

Creator-connected sale: customer used a creator code

WhoShare
Maker70%
Creator15%
MakerPal10%
Customer discount5%

Real example: A maker lists a handmade item at $100.

  • Organic sale: customer pays $100. Maker receives $90. MakerPal receives $10.
  • Creator-connected sale: customer applies a creator code and pays $95. Maker receives $70. Creator receives $15. MakerPal receives $10.

Attribution is handled automatically. No manual calculations. No disputes.

The customer's 5% discount is absorbed within the overall split. It is not an extra cost on top of the listed price. The maker always knows exactly what they will receive before a sale happens.

All purchases go through MakerPal so the entire system works reliably for everyone: makers, creators, and customers.

  • Customers get their 5% discount applied automatically at checkout when using a creator code
  • Creators are attributed accurately on every order they drove
  • Revenue splits happen automatically with no invoices and no manual reconciliation
  • Makers and creators receive a clear monthly breakdown of every sale, every split, and every payout

One platform. Everyone paid fairly. Every time.

Joining MakerPal as a maker or creator is free. No listing fees. No subscription. No upfront campaigns.

MakerPal's 10% platform share only applies when a sale happens. If nothing sells, nothing is owed.

Customers can browse and buy with no account required. Creating an account lets them save favourites and track their orders.

Collaborations are non-exclusive. Makers can work with multiple creators. Creators can collaborate with multiple makers. Either side can end a collaboration at any time.

Anyone who introduces a new maker to MakerPal earns 1% of that maker's sales for up to 12 months from the maker's first sale.

This applies to customers, creators, other makers, anyone. If the maker you referred joins and starts selling, your referral share is tracked and paid automatically.

This 1% comes from MakerPal's platform share, not from the maker's revenue. The maker's percentages above do not change.

It is MakerPal's way of rewarding the people who help build the community.
